Gilbert International runs distribution out of Laredo, Texas — at the border, not 400 miles past it. 250,000+ square feet on I-35, rail served, with same-day dispatch and both LTL and full truckload outbound.

Most importers cross at Laredo, truck the freight to a distribution center in San Antonio or Dallas, then send a good share of it back south when orders come in. Every mile of that is paid for twice. Distributing from the border removes the leg.

What we do

  • Receiving and cross-dock — inbound by truck or by our private Union Pacific rail spur. Committed freight crosses the dock and leaves the same day.
  • Storage — racked and floor-stacked, with food-grade certified space.
  • Pick and pack — pallet, case, and each. Kitting, retail-ready packs, destination labeling.
  • Outbound — full truckload, or LTL consolidation so you’re not paying for empty trailer space.
  • Returns and rework — inspected, sorted, repacked, dispositioned.

Why the border

San Antonio is under three hours north. Dallas–Fort Worth is a same-day run, and I-35 carries straight on through Oklahoma City and Kansas City. Monterrey is three hours south.

Roughly $339 billion in trade crossed at Laredo in 2024. The carrier base, drayage capacity, and broker density are all here because of that volume — you inherit it by being here.

Bonded and non-bonded, one building

We hold four customs bonded classes, and the bonded space sits inside the same facility as general distribution. A single inbound shipment can be split: the portion with firm orders gets duty-paid and released, the rest stays in bond with the duty clock stopped. No second building, no second vendor. See the customs bonded warehouse page.

Common questions

Do you do pick and pack, or only pallet storage?

Pick and pack down to the each — plus kitting, retail-ready packaging, and destination labeling.

Can you receive freight by rail?

Yes. A private 10-car Union Pacific spur with direct transloading to truck, so rail-inbound product moves into distribution without an intermediate stop.

Do I have to use your bonded space?

No. They’re separate services in the same building. Plenty of customers use general distribution only.

One call. No ticket queue.
