What we collect
When you ask us for a quote
The contact form on this site asks for your name, company, email address, phone number, the service you’re interested in, and whatever you write in the message field. Our “Get a Quote” buttons open a form hosted by Microsoft Forms; anything you enter there is submitted to Microsoft’s service and delivered to us.
Automatically, as you browse
Our host records standard web server information — IP address, browser and device type, the pages requested, and the time of the request. This is ordinary server logging used for security and troubleshooting. We do not run advertising pixels, and we do not operate a Google Analytics or Facebook tracking install on this site.
Why we collect it
- To answer your enquiry and quote your freight.
- To keep the business records that customs and transportation rules require.
- To keep the site working, secure, and free of abuse.
- To meet our obligations under US customs and transportation rules.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own advertising.
Who else sees it
- Our hosting provider stores the site and its database on our behalf.
- Microsoft processes quote requests submitted through the Microsoft Forms quote form.
- Carriers, rail operators, customs brokers, and US Customs and Border Protection, to the extent a shipment requires it.
- Law enforcement or regulators, where we are legally required to produce records.
Cookies and third-party content
This site sets a small number of functional cookies — to remember your cookie choice, to remember whether you’re reading in English or Spanish, and to protect our forms from spam submissions. Some pages also load fonts, scripts, and a security badge from third-party providers, which means those providers can see your IP address when the resource loads.
Specifically:
- a consent cookie recording your cookie choice;
- a language cookie recording whether you’re viewing the site in English or Spanish;
- a short-lived token on our forms that blocks automated spam submissions.
None of these track you across other websites, and none are used for advertising. The third-party resources this site loads are web fonts, script libraries from public CDNs, and a site-security badge; those providers see your IP address when the resource loads, as they would on any site that uses them.
How long we keep it
Quote enquiries are kept while we are in contact with you and for a reasonable period afterwards as a business record. Server logs are retained on a short rolling basis by our host. You can ask us to delete your information sooner — see below.
How we protect it
The site is served over HTTPS, access to the administrative side is restricted to authorised staff, and form submissions are stored behind that same access control. No system is perfect, and we don’t claim ours is — but we treat customer information as operational data, not as something to be traded.
Your choices
Email dispatch@gilbertint.com or call 956-723-4308 and we will:
- tell you what information we hold about you;
- correct anything that’s wrong;
- delete it, unless we are required to keep it as a customs or transportation record;
- stop contacting you.
Residents of US states with consumer privacy laws — California and others — have these rights by statute, and we will not treat you differently for exercising them. You can change your cookie choice at any time through the cookie banner settings.
Children
This is a commercial freight site. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the site collects or uses information, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
